The 75th Civil Engineer Squadron has a pavement construction project on "D" Avenue (Balmer Street to Wardleigh Road) which will require excavation and repair of an old drain at the intersection of Weiner Street and "D" Avenue, concrete, asphalt, pop-up barricades, as well as some sidewalks and curbs.

The Phase 2 effort of this project is scheduled to start Tuesday, June 30. Approximately June 30 through July 14, "D" Avenue (6th Street to Wardleigh Road) will be closed. This will be a full road closure due to the narrow width of "D" Avenue. Phase 2 will not include the intersections of "D" Avenue and 6th Street or Wardleigh Road. The contractor will maintain temporary crosswalks through the area to match existing crosswalks as safely allowed around construction equipment. Project schedule is weather permitting.

The recommended alternate travel route is Wardleigh Road or 6th Street to "E" Avenue or Southgate Avenue for through traffic. Most buildings can be accessed from "E" Avenue or Southgate Avenue via 4th Street.
