HILL AFB, Utah -- Due to budget and staffing reductions, the Satellite Pharmacy at the Base Exchange will be closing Nov. 15.
New prescriptions and refills will only be available for pick up at the the BX ScriptCenters or the 75th Medical Group's Main Pharmacy. The windows at the Satellite Pharmacy will remain open until Nov. 14 to dispense prescriptions that have already been filled and are awaiting pick up.
“We understand that while this may be an inconvenience for some, in terms of the quality of service our patients are receiving it will have no impact,” said Maj. James Holt, 75th MDG’s Pharmacy Flight commander.
Holt said in addition to the Main Pharmacy, patients will still have access to the Exchange’s ScriptCenter kiosks for picking up non-refrigerated prescriptions. The kiosks are available when the BX is open. Patients will continue to specify if they’d like to pick up prescriptions at the Main Pharmacy or at a kiosk.
In addition, Remote Pharmacy Check-In using the Q-Anywhere texting service is still available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for activating new prescriptions or requesting refills.
“The texting service and the kiosks have been an integral part of our services as it allows patients to interact with the pharmacy and access services during pharmacy non-operational hours,” Holt said.
