Hill Air Force Base is set to host Retiree Appreciation Day, an event is crafted to honor the esteemed military retirees for their years of dedicated service and will focus on providing retirees valuable information and resources to support their post-military lives.

The event is free and all military retirees in the area are invited to attend. It will take place Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Landing, which is located in Building 450 on the south side of the base, at 7420 Miller Street.

“Retiree Appreciation Day fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among attendees,” said Staff Sgt. Emily Gonzalez, project officer for the event. “The event's environment will encourage retirees to connect with fellow service members, share experiences, and forge lasting connections. This networking aspect of the event aims to strengthen the support network available to retirees and reinforce the bonds forged during their time in service.”

Retiree Appreciation Day will offer a series of informative and inspiring speakers, including distinguished military leaders, veteran advocates and guest speaker Congressman Blake Moore. These speakers will address various aspects of retirement and share essential insights on accessing benefits, healthcare and educational opportunities available to retirees and their families.

“Their valuable guidance will empower retirees to make informed decisions and navigate their post-service journey with confidence,” Gonzalez said.

The event will include a range of information booths, staffed by experts who will provide personalized assistance and answer questions about available benefits and resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about healthcare options, pension details, educational benefits and other services designed to support their well-being and transition to civilian life.

“Hill Air Force Base is committed to providing retirees with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the next phase of their lives successfully,” Gonzalez said. “The Retiree Appreciation Day is a testament to the base's gratitude for the sacrifices made by these honorable individuals and the enduring impact of their service on our nation.”
