HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Armed Forces Voters Week is observed June 27 through July 5, and officials are reminding service members to vote in local elections or by absentee ballot.

The Federal Voting Assistance Program, facilitated by the Airman and Family Readiness Center, is the official resource for voter registration and absentee ballots for service members and their families serving stateside and overseas.

“With primaries happening now and the presidential election coming up in November, we want to make sure service members know how to do this before it’s too late to register,” said Christina D’Amico, interim installation voting assistance officer.

Personnel can visit www.fvap.gov for a list of state-specific voting guidelines, election dates and deadlines, as well as ballot status updates.

“It doesn’t matter where you’re from, you can download the exact forms you need for your home of record,” said D’Amico.

The A&FRC serves as the installation voting office, but D’Amico said most resources are available virtually during COVID-19.

“We want to keep our members in the know on how to exercise their right to vote and have their voice be heard,” she said.

At Hill AFB, members can contact the voting assistance officer at the A&FRC at 801-777-4681 or visit www.hill.af.mil/voting/ for more information.
