Air Force announces Air Force Art Contest winners

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Morgan Becker of Hill Air Force Base was among the 2019 Air Force Art Contest winners recently announced by Air Force Services Center. Becker placed first in the Youth Ages 9-12 category for her oil paint on canvas piece titled "Rising Star."

The contest, which runs Nov. 1-30 each year, is designed to highlight and celebrate creative works by Airmen and their families around the globe.

More than 900 artists submitted more than 1,400 pieces of art this year using a variety of media.

1st Place: Nick Malin, McConnell AFB, Kansas, “Hide & Seek” oil painting on canvas
2nd Place: Jenna Ervin, Schriever AFB, Colorado, “Jai Yen” oil painting on canvas
3rd Place: Eleanor Puetz, Offutt AFB, Nebraska, “5 and Fire” pencil

Adult Novice Winners
1st Place: Jazmine McDuffie, Minot AFB, North Dakota, “Lady of Many Colors” acrylic and water paint
2nd Place: Danny Phillips, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, “Duck” acrylic
3rd Place: Randi Nelson, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, “Cream” graphite, charcoal, colored pencil and ink

Youth Ages 13-17 Winners
1st Place: Kole McCarrick, Luke AFB, Arizona, “Boneless” black pen
2nd Place: Mara Danner, Peterson AFB, Colorado, “Popped” mixed media
3rd Place: Rebecca Frazier, Spangdahlem AB, Germany, “Donuts” acrylic paint

Youth Ages 9-12 Winners
1st Place: Morgan Becker, Hill AFB, Utah, “Rising Star” oil paint on canvas
2nd Place: Tai Oser, Ramstein AB, Germany, “Parrot” pencil
3rd Place: Haniyah Robinson, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, “Warrior Cat”

Youth Ages 6-8 Winners
1st Place: Riley Roberts, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina, “Self Portrait” paint
2nd Place: Alora Brownfield, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, “Owl Eyes” white charcoal pencil
3rd Place: Clay Koertner, Scott AFB, Illinois, “A Pup’s Curiosity” pencil

Winners in each category received $400, $300 and $200 gift cards for first, second and third place respectively.
