Civilian Health Promotion Services

Civilian Health Promotion Services (CHPS) is a program providing free resources to help individuals maintain and improve their health and well-being. AFMC appropriated fund civilians may participate in all of CHPS services. Active duty are welcome to participate in blood pressure, body composition, health education classes, and wellness challenges only. Family members of AFMC civilians are not eligible.

The CHPS program is a contracted program under Millennium Health & Fitness. Our commitment is to improve your quality of life, reduce your risk of preventable health  conditions, increase your awareness of nutrition and health, and provide you opportunities for lifestyle changes through screening and education

Wellness Screenings
Participating in the annual Cardiac Risk Profile (CRP) screening is one of the most important steps you can take to help maintain your health. Knowing your cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure values--key indicators of current and future health status--is a great start to health awareness. In addition to the CRP screening, CHPS offers regular blood pressure and body composition screenings. Contact your CHPS office today to find out how to take advantage of these programs.
Health Education Programs
CHPS offers a wide variety of health education topics. Classes cover a variety of health topics--such as nutrition, heart health, pain, sleep, oral health, stress, cancer, safety and chronic conditions--and actions to take to feel better and reduce risk of disease. Our classes typically run 30-60 minutes and can be presented in all types of settings. Contact CHPS to schedule a worksite class.
Wellness Challenges/Health Awareness Campaigns
CHPS conducts several wellness challenges and health awareness campaigns each year. Our wellness challenges are designed to enhance a participant's overall health and well-being through physical activity and weight management challenges. Health awareness campaigns highlight services provided by base helping agencies, while calling attention to important health issues.
The AFMC Wellness Support Center is a website with FREE resources for AFMC Appropriated Fund Civilians and Active Duty members.
After you log in, the website allows access to tools to help you reach your health goals. You will also learn about activities that CHPS staff provide at your base, like health education classes and cholesterol screenings.

"I was telling one of our contractors in another state that our organization just had our cholesterol checked. He couldn't believe that you come to our work place and do that for everyone. I am very thankful and grateful for the service you provide us." - Hill AFB

"Overall, I really like that the Air Force supports yearly cholesterol screening. It makes me feel like I'm valued as an employee and by providing this free service I know how I'm doing health wise. Thanks." - CHPS Participant
