Acting Museum Director Aaron Clark said it's a relatively small number in comparison to the more than 2,000 artifacts that currently sprawl the museum's 34-acres situated on Hill AFB's north side. He said the downsizing is necessary because "the museum no longer has the manpower, funding or means necessary to give these aircraft the care they need."

Team Hill had nearly 2,700 people furloughed because of the government shutdown that took place Oct. 1.

"It was vitally important for Team Hill to return our civilian personnel to work," said Col. Kathryn Kolbe, 75th Air Base Wing commander.

"All of our civilians play an important role in accomplishing the Air Force mission, and we are grateful for their contributions and for their continued patience during this challenging time. With Team Hill's diverse mission sets, we are reliant on our civilian and military personnel working together as a team to get the job done," she said.

The 729th ACS is one of three active duty air control squadrons in the Air Force and provided radar air surveillance and command and control of coalition aircraft over the skies of Afghanistan.

The fourth annual See Me, Save Me campaign ride will stage at the Base Exchange parking lot (located on base), at 10:30 a.m., head out the Roy Gate at approximately 11 a.m., ride a circular route through local communities and finish at the Hill Aerospace Museum.

All off-base riders interested in joining the campaign ride may stage at the Hill Aerospace Museum at 10:45 a.m. and follow the group as it leaves the Roy Gate.

The Transporter Erector provides the sole capability to emplace and remove the Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM booster at Air Force MMIII launch facilities. The Transporter Erector Replacement Program (TERP) was initiated to replace the currently fielded Transporter Erector with a technology replenished Transporter Erector that will serve the MMIII ICBM through 2035. The new Transporter Erector will be the third generation system and is anticipated to be fielded in time to comply with the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. The award of this contract is representative of a successful full and open competition among industry, which was completed in ten months from request for proposal release to contract award.

The 75 ABW commander is directly responsible for providing installation support for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, two fighter wings, and 61 other associate units, totaling 24,000 active duty, civilian and contractor personnel. Additionally, the commander directly supports Air and Space Expeditionary Forces operations and has base support responsibility for the operation of the 1,500-square-mile Utah Test and Training Range.

The event takes place at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 and will be the culmination of a squadron community service project organized by Senior Airman Brandon Clark, a 729th ACS ground radar systems technician, and his wife, Tricia.

This week, the Clark's and other volunteers from the 729th ACS will remove corrosion from and repaint the park's World War I monument, as well as other areas around the monument. Volunteers and community officials will then rededicate the monument on Sunday when members from the squadron ceremonially replace the monument's American flag.
