  • Combined Federal Campaign Giving Tuesday

    Giving Tuesday raised nearly $170,000 of much needed funds for Combined Federal Campaign charity partners. As of Giving Tuesday, the Mountain States CFC federal, military and postal employees have contributed $1,263,915 in monetary gifts and volunteer hours value.
  • Ribbon cutting celebrates functional 5G network

    Hill Air Force Base hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Dec. 2 in celebration of the first deployed and functional 5G network at a U.S. military installation. The project began in 2019, when the Department of Defense sought to demonstrate innovative prototypes that use commercial 5G technologies as a way to augment future military capabilities. Hill was one of several bases chosen to participate in the DoD’s Dynamic Spectrum Utilization program.
  • Safety Flash: Children crossing for school in base housing

    Safety officials are calling on motorists and pedestrians to use extra caution near 6th Street and Charleston Loop. A number of “near-miss accidents" have been reported in the area involving vehicles and children walking to and from Hill Field Elementary School, especially between 8-8:30 a.m. and 3:30-4 p.m.
  • Hill Airman surprised with STEP promotion

    Tech. Sgt. Terry Smith, 775th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal, received a surprise visit earlier this week from Col. Jenise Carroll, 75th Air Base Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Raymond Riley, 75th ABW Command Chief, with news of his selection for a STEP promotion.
  • Make holiday cheer happen all year through the CFC

    Be the face of change this holiday season by contributing to the Combined Federal Campaign. With the solicitation period just halfway through, the 2021 Combined Federal Campaign organizers said the annual fundraiser is off to a strong start, but they hope the holiday season will inspire more people to give. So far, Hill AFB personnel have pledged more than $40,000 to participating charities.

  • Team Hill supports Operation Allies Welcome

    When the request came to assist Afghan evacuees in early September of this year, 10 Hill Airmen answered the call. With short notice, they were on a plane headed to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, to support Operation Allies Welcome with Task Force Liberty.
  • Hill outlines policy for operating small drones near base

    As the sale of small drones (also known as “small unmanned aircraft”) increases each year, the Federal Aviation Administration, Defense Department and Air Force have had to establish regulations and policies to accommodate both manned and unmanned aircraft occupying the same airspace. Similarly, Hill AFB officials have been working with the FAA and small unmanned aircraft users in the community to create local policies and procedures to enhance safety in airspace used by the base.
  • Hill increases traffic enforcement to help improve roadway safety

    In an effort to improve safety, as well as gather information and identify the issues of drivers on base who were failing to follow the posted speed limits, the Wing Safety Office joined forces with the 75th Security Forces Squadron with an increased traffic enforcement and speeding crackdown.
