Air Force Week-Salt Lake City officially kicks off with the proclamation ceremony next Monday, 1 Jun 2009 at the State Capitol, but our introductory events have already begun! This past Sunday, 24 May 2009, we enjoyed a superb performance by the Air Force Reserve Band with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

On Saturday, 30 May 2009 at the Davis Conference Center is SpouseBuzz Live. This event is for all military spouses. Hosted by Military.Com, the day will be filled with expos, military spouse panels to discuss unique issues and opportunities to meet and network with other military spouses.

These two events lead into what I know will be the best Air Force Week!

Over 30 events are scheduled next week throughout Utah - including Ogden, Eagle Mountain City, Thanksgiving Point, Park City and of course Salt Lake City and Hill Air Force Base. Air Force Week culminates with a 2-day Open House and Air Show featuring the USAF Thunderbirds. There will be more than 5 1/2 hours of flying during our open house and air show, with the entire parking ramp covered in display and performance aircraft

Our Air Force Week theme is "Showcasing America's Airmen: Keeping the Promise...Your United States Air Force." I encourage each of you to help showcase Hill Air Force Base's stellar Airmen by participating in off-base events as much as the mission allows. We are blessed with incredible support of Utah communities for Hill Air Force Base and your participation in the Air Force Week - Salt Lake City allows you to thank those community partners for their tireless support.

Please join us next week as we tell the Air Force story to all of Utah.
