Hill Aerospace Museum houses many unique and historical aircraft and missiles, each requiring constant maintenance and conservation. Many items arrive at the museum badly needing repairs and parts before they can even be placed on exhibit. Some require complete overhaul, while others are flyable when they arrive and therefore require minimal preparation for display.
Our staff and volunteers can often perform the necessary restoration work in-house, but sometimes outside contractors are hired to assist in the effort. We also rely heavily on certain shops and organizations on base, including the 419th Fighter Wing, 419th Combat Logistics Support Squadron, 388th Fighter Wing, 649th Combat Logistics Support Squadron, various Ogden Air Logistics Center directorates and departments, and many others. We deeply appreciate the help we receive from these dedicated folks.
We are currently restoring several aircraft and missiles for exhibit, including a Boeing B-47E Stratojet, Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, North American OV-10 Bronco, and Consolidated B-24D Liberator.
If you or your organization would like to help us on any of these restoration projects, please contact the museum and ask to speak to our Restoration Coordinator! We are currently re-energizing our "Adopt-a-Plane" program too and there are LOTS of ways you can help! Call us today at (801) 777-6818 and ask how you can get involved!
