Volunteers from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, hike to the location of the initial crash site where an F-4 Phantom crashed nearly 30 years go. The trip from the camp to crash site was a humbling eight miles through rock, dirt and dried creeks taking about 90 minutes to cover.

Not far from the crash scar, members of the volunteer group line up to clean the initial impact site and corresponding side of the mountain. Most of the big pieces were cleaned up after the collision, but some smaller bits were left behind.
