GenCorp Aerojet CBU-87B/B Combined Effects Munition
The Combined Effects Munition (CEM) is an all-purpose air-delivered cluster weapon system containing 202 BLU-97/B Combined Effects Bombs. The BLU-97/B bombs are highly effective against armor, personnel, and material enabling a single payload attack against a wide variety of targets. Aerojet Ordnance of Downey, California, was the developer and initial production contractor, with program and logistic management conducted at the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill AFB.
The CBU-87B/B was the weapon of choice for wide-area tactical target attacks during Operation Desert Storm. The CBU-87B/B could be delivered from A-7, A-10, F-4, F-15, F-16, F-111, and B-52 aircraft.
