The base held a Special Needs Summit for families March 15 – an information fair for military and civilian employees to learn about area services and programs available to families with special needs. More than 130 providers from 90 on- and off-base agencies attended the summit.

Brianna Heim gets assistance from her service dog, Emily, opening a pantry door March 3, 2018, at her residence. Brianna's parents attended the 2010 Special Needs Summit where they learned about an organization that breeds, raises and trains service dogs in order to provide them to veterans, adults and children with disabilities.
