Hill scores 7 command level awards

Hill AFB units scored seven Air Force Material Command level awards for their outstanding support.

Competing against a possible 82,275 personnel assigned to AFMC, Hill AFB earned awards in the following categories for the 2007 Outstanding Mission Support, Career Assistance Advisor, and First Term Airmen Center awards.

The following individuals and organizations are selected as the AFMC nominees:

The Outstanding United States Air Force Personnel Manager of the Year for the Senior Personnel Manger category was awarded to Lt. Col. Frederick Thaden. The Personnel Technician category was awarded to Staff Sgt. Andrea Jordan and the Personnel Specialist category was awarded to Senior Airman Amanda Daniels. All awardees are recognized as individuals who have made important contributions in a military personnel function in areas such as achievement in developing/improving programs, systems, procedures, or ideas that resulted in benefits to both individuals and the Air Force.

The Enlisted Professional Military Education Achievement award for the Airman Leadership School Flight Chief of the Year was awarded to Master Sgt. Donald Cumins Jr. The award recognizes and encourages superior performance and significant contributions to the Air Force EPME program.

The Air Force Education and Training Managers award for the Senior Civilian category was awarded to GS-11 Lisa M. Thompson. The award recognizes and encourages outstanding achievement and significant contributions by individual managers.

The General Horace M. Wade Innovation Award recognizes an individual who has initiated innovative change that enhances operational support to the war fighter. The Gen. Wade category was awarded to GS-11 Scott Stein.

The Outstanding Airman & Family Readiness Center award for the greater than 5,550 population was awarded to the 75th Mission Support Squadron for their outstanding service and significant contributions to the Air Force.

All award winners will go on to represent AFMC in the Air Force-level competition.
