Hill Air Force Base – The Hill AFB Pride Committee will present a panel event in recognition of International Transgender Day of Visibility, from 9-11 a.m. on April 3 in the conference room in building 289.

The panel will include trans members from our local community and will give people an opportunity to ask questions and have conversations with transgender people.

The event will begin with a presentation to inform people about different terms and about using professionalism in a diverse environment.

Senior Airman Sarah “Drew” Matthews, with the Hill AFB pride committee and an LGBTQIA+ special observance committee member said the panel event is intended to raise awareness of the discrimination faced by trans people worldwide and also celebrate their contributions to society.

“We hope to educate about transgender resources and bring awareness to transgender people’s struggles and triumphs,” she said. “This is especially important in our country right now to help people understand and see that transgender people are human, and just want to live life like everybody else.”

The panel event will also be available on Zoom with a link will be sent through internal channels.
