HILL AIR FORCE BASE – Team Hill members can participate in a virtual Fortnite gaming tournament, be crowned “top gamer team” from the base and earn the right to participate in an all-military championship.

The Proctor and Gamble company and the Fisher House foundation present this opportunity to the first 32 teams from the Hill military community to register for the online tournament set to begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 14.

Scott Conrey, Hill Commissary store director, said this tournament came about because the Hill Commissary and Exchange created an award-winning product display in their stores.

“I am proud that the Hill AFB Commissary and Exchange personnel were able to partner with our industry representatives to create a shopping experience that was then recognized by P&G Military and Fisher House,” Conrey said. “Combined, we were able to win one of the four slots for this year’s virtual gaming event.”

Every participating team will receive a $25 commissary gift card, a $25 Exchange gift card, a $25 Subway gift card and Fortnite swag at the conclusion of the event.

Hill’s winning team will receive a $500 Gift Card, a $250 Exchange gift card,
a $250 Commissary gift card, a gaming chair, controller, and headset.

Hill’s Oct. 14 tournament is actually the first round, determining the team that will advance and compete against the champions of similar tournaments held at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Riley, Kansas and Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

Edward James, Hill Exchange Main Store manager, said he like’s team Hill’s chances to win it all.

“I know Hill AFB Airmen and women are competitive and have the drive to show everyone else that we're the best,” James said. “It's also an awesome opportunity to show that you can have fun on Hill AFB in this digital age."

Competitors on each two-person team must be at least 13 years old, but only one player needs to register.

Registration is open now at www.procamps.com/pggaming.

“I wish all participants a great gaming event, Conrey said. “Enjoy this elimination round and then show the rest of the competitors why HILL AFB IS THE BEST!”
