HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Hispanic Heritage Committee closed out National Hispanic Heritage Month Oct. 15 with a soccer skills challenge for some of Hill’s youth.

Master Sgt. John Beever, 388th Munitions Squadron and Team Hill Special Observance Council member, said soccer tradition in the Hispanic community brings people together and creates friendships. The family-friendly challenge was held at Centennial Park and included ball dribbling, accuracy, speed dribbling and passing.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

The month pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America, and who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.
