SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. – By direction of Headquarters Air Force, Scott Air Force Base has entered HPCON Charlie to decrease the risk of community spread and is not a result of heightened local infection rates. Here’s what this means for those working or visiting the base:

100% ID checks
We are implementing 100% ID checks at the base entry points. There will be no additional base access restrictions at this time. As this situation evolves, the installation commander reserves the right to restrict visitors and non-essential personnel to protect mission continuation and the health of those employees who are critical supporting ongoing global operational requirements.

Entry Control Points
Entry control points with COVID-19 screenings will be established at all high density work centers. These organizations should institute ECPs as soon as local training is complete and conditions are set to execute, as established by the units. Daily screening is recommended at all other work centers where members are required to be physically present for duty.

There are no changes to the duty status, unless otherwise directed by individual chains-of-command, and there have been some additional measures to modify the cleaning contracts for work centers with high contact surfaces.

Scott AFB declared a public health emergency March 16 and reduced manning to continue mission critical tasks only. The declaration provided the commander with additional tools necessary to protect Airmen and families and limit the spread of the virus. This includes restricting movement of personnel and access to the installation as necessary and implementing quarantine or isolation procedures for affected individuals.
