Airmen from Hill Air Force Base helped bring a little joy and vivacity to residents at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden Feb. 14.

Residents at the home celebrated Cupid’s holiday with a Valentine’s dance.

Balloons and military-themed decorations adorned tables while Airmen, dressed in their military best “mess dress,” spent time with the home’s residents moving and grooving to the hits of the 40s and 50s, and reminiscing about the past.

“This was such a great opportunity. I love volunteering and just being able to be a part of this,” said 2nd Lt. Khaimook Grosshuesch, 388th Maintenance Squadron. “Seeing all the happy, smiling faces … it makes me feel warm inside. I know for them it was truly a great feeling to see us out here and representing Hill Air Force Base.”

The Ogden Veterans Home is a long-term care and rehabilitation center that accommodates veterans who have served active duty, spouses of veterans and Gold Star parents.
