Take command with TRICARE changes Take command with TRICARE changes: Enrollments shifting from fiscal to calendar year starting in January 2018
Starting Jan. 1, 2018, cost changes for TRICARE benefits transition from a fiscal year period to a calendar year period. Changing from fiscal year (Oct. 1 – Sept. 30) to calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31) makes the TRICARE benefit consistent with civilian health plans. The change will largely affect those plans which have an enrollment fee and are currently billed by the fiscal year.

FEHB Open Season 2018 Federal civilians invited to FEHB open season health fair
Federal civilian employees interested in reviewing their healthcare benefits are invited to attend a health fair that begins as early as next month. The fair is held in conjunction with Federal Employees Health Benefits “open season." Open season, which runs Nov. 13 through Dec. 11 this year, gives employees the opportunity to enroll in a flexible spending account; enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a dental or vision plan under the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program; and enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a health plan under the FEHB program.

For most of us, getting to work means waking up, showering, maybe some breakfast, then dealing with traffic on a drive of 30 minute or less, and finally, waiting in a long line at a base entrance. For 10 plastic fabricator inspectors in the 309th Electronics Maintenance Group, it’s anything but normal when they leave home for work. These highly skilled workers are responsible for maintaining mission critical radar radomes around the world.
